The Wiggles Partner with the Hellenic Studies Foundation for Learning Greek with Lucia

Empowering Greek Language Learning!

The Wiggles are helping families bring Greek language and culture into everyday life with the launch of Celebrate Greek Language & Culture with Lucia and The Wiggles - a vibrant new album, YouTube video and suite of free online learning resources designed to make learning Greek fun, accessible and engaging for young children.

Developed by The Wiggles on behalf of South Australia’s Hellenic Studies Foundation, with support from the Government of South Australia, the initiative brings together the universal appeal of The Wiggles with the rich heritage of the Greek language, creating an engaging way for children and families to learn through the things they love most: music, movement and play.

A Wiggle into Greek Culture: The Foundation and The Wiggles Unite for Language Learning

Featuring Lucia Field, Blue Wiggle, this new project introduces children to Greek words, sounds and phrases in a way that feels less like a lesson and more like a Wiggles experience - encouraging children to sing, dance, move and learn together.

For the Hellenic Studies Foundation, the initiative represents another important step in its mission to promote and preserve Modern Greek within the education system and beyond. For The Wiggles, it is a natural extension of the group's long-standing belief that children learn best when education is delivered through fun, music, movement and imagination.

Celebrate Greek Language & Culture with Lucia and The Wiggles is the next step - taking that successful model further and helping more children discover the joy of Greek language and culture.

For Greek Australian families, the initiative is about much more than learning another language. It is about creating meaningful connections between generations and helping children stay connected to their family, grandparents, community, culture and heritage.

“Children learn best when they are having fun, and that is something we know incredibly well at The Wiggles,” said Lucia.

“Music and movement can make language feel familiar and exciting from a very young age. We’re so proud to be part of a project that helps children discover the joy of the Greek language while celebrating the culture and traditions that are so important to so many Australian families.”
